Remembrance 2020

As you might imagine, the way that we mark Remembrance Sunday is going to be very different this year. However, I believe that it is really important that we still take time to remember and honour those who have given their lives, livelihoods and comfort for our sake.

Given the latest lockdown, this service is taking place entirely online. We have pre-recorded various sections of the service.

#wewillrememberthem

I believe that it is right that Lutterworth continues to honour those who have given so much for our peace and security. The Town Remembrance Service has always been more than a British Legion event, as has included civic representatives, the Town Council, cadets and uniformed groups, as the whole town gathers in an act of remembrance.

We’d love you to be involved

Would you be able to record a short video of you standing in silence – we will show a selection of these during the 2-minute silence.

If you have any decorations or crafts connected with Remembrance, then please send us a photo of video of what you’ve made.

Just email anything you have to tech@lutterworthchurch.org

Many features of the service will remain.

  • We are still planning to hold a service, beginning at 10.45 on Sunday 8th November – but it will be online on Facebook and the church website.
  • We hope to involve as many different organisations and people as possible.
  • There will be a 2-minute silence at 11am.
