Safeguarding is one of the most important duties of any organisation involved with children, young people and those vulnerable in any way. As a church we prioritise safer recruitment and safeguarding training for all volunteers, offering two-hour sessions at multiple points throughout the year.
At the Church Council (PCC) meeting on Monday we ratified a new Safeguarding Policy, bringing our procedures into line with the best advice from wider bodies and our own experience in recent years. This is now essential reading for anyone in our church, especially those with specific responsibilities for under 18s and vulnerable adults.
