Worship

Followers of Jesus are called to live our whole lives as worship to God. We want to align ourselves to God, reorienting our hearts towards him. A big part of how we do this is to gather for worship.

We normally hold a variety of different services each week, some informal and some more formal. We’d love you to join us. For details of exactly what is going on this week, please visit our calendar.

Sunday Services

8am Traditional

A service of Holy Communion from the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) is held at 8am in Lutterworth Church on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. It uses traditional language and is a peaceful and refreshing way to start the day.

9.30am Traditional

Our traditional services of Holy Communion and Morning Prayer are taken from Common Worship (CW) and will be familiar to those with experience of Church of England services. They include hymns and music led by the organ or keyboard. The churches at Cotesbach and Bitteswell work in partnership to run services Sunday services at 9.30am, alternating between venues. You will receive a warm welcome and refreshments are served after the service. To find out where this service is being held this week, visit our calendar.

Sunday @ 11

An informal service every Sunday at 11am at St Mary’s Church in Lutterworth. It includes contemporary music, bible teaching and the opportunity for prayer and response. ‘Treehouse’ activities for children aged 3-11 also run during the service in the church café. Toys, a crèche space and changing facilities are available for the very young. Refreshments are available all morning and we encourage people to stay after the service for fellowship, and to chat and pray if helpful.

7pm Compline and Prayer Meetings

Compline is a short, quiet and reflective service of prayers and readings, based on a monastic service that is used to end the day. We say Compline on the first Sunday of the month at Lutterworth Church at 7pm.

A monthly prayer meeting is also held on the 3rd Sunday of the month at Lutterworth Church at 7pm, providing an opportunity to gather to pray together.

Check our calendar for the most up-to-date details for these evening services.

Midweek Services

We also meet every Wednesday at 10.30am at St Mary’s Lutterworth. This gentle, traditional service of Holy Communion includes prayers, hymns, bible readings and a ‘thought for the day’. Bible readings are taken from the Common Worship Lectionary and follow the church’s year and seasons. Refreshments are served after the service in the café, which provides an opportunity for fellowship.
